Junior Counselor-In-Training (CIT)

Students Entering Grades 7-9 in Fall 2024

Our Junior Counselor-In-Training (CIT) pre-teen leadership program helps them develop valuable team-building, organization, and communication skills. CITs will receive training in behavior and team management, creativity, and interpersonal skills. Our hands-on learning environment allows CITs to practice responsibility by leading many of PSLA's summer camp activities and managing a small group of campers.

CITs will also get to spend time playing games, socializing, and bonding with each other and campers.

Through this program, our goal is to provide pre-teens a summer camp training program that fosters personal growth, encourages strong relationships, and enables CITs to practice leadership while having fun!

Note: The Junior CIT program is application-based and is limited to 4 Junior CITs per week. It is also a requirement to be a Junior CIT if kids are interested in coming back to PSLA as a counselor.

The Process- How to Become a Junior CIT

Submit Application Form

Fill out the Microsoft Form Application for Junior CIT (above) genuinely and carefully. Make sure to read the form description before submitting to make sure you can commit and are aware of the expectations of a Junior CIT.

(Schedule) Interview

Once I review your application, I'll send an email containing instructions for scheduling your 10 minute zoom interview. In the interview, I will ask questions based on your application and also to figure out what weeks work best.

Official Registration

After all interviews are over and I have decided which CITs will be best for each week, I will send out an invoice which will complete the registration. Tuition is $100/week and will include a t-shirt, snack, training session, and pizza party.

Attend Training

After all interviews are over and I have decided which CITs will be attending each week, I will send out information regarding the 2 hour training session. This session is mandatory. After this, we can't wait to have you as a Junior CIT at PSLA 2024!
